Setting goals and giving athletes targets to reach are fundamental building blocks to continual athletic growth. In the strength and conditioning field, this physical growth is important to the success of the athlete long term; a stronger, fitter athlete will be more likely to achieve than an untrained one. The Benchmarks feature of SportsMed is designed specifically for the strength and conditioning field, allowing coaches to set goals for their to increase their motivation and overall training outcomes. 

To Create a New Benchmark:

  1. Select 'Strength and Conditioning' and 'Benchmarks' from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select 'Create New Benchmark' from the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select the player and exercise from drop-down menus,  and enter a benchmark value.
  4. Select 'Save'.  

To View or Edit Current Benchmarks:

  1. Select 'Strength and Conditioning' and 'Benchmarks' from the left-hand menu.
  2. A table of the current benchmarks will appear. You can see the benchmark value itself as well as when the benchmark was created. 
  3. Benchmarks can be found by searching with the filter located at the top left-hand of the table. 
  4. To update the benchmark, select the 'Edit' pen from the 'Options' column of the appropriate benchmark. Enter in a new value and select 'Save Changes'. 
  5. The Benchmarks list can also be copied, printed or exported to PDF or csv by selecting the corresponding icons at the top right-hand side of the table.
